Bloggers Quilt Festival 2018 ++ Celestial ++

It’s time for the annual Bloggers Quilt Festival hosted by Amy from Amy’s Creative Side.

This quilt is Celestial that I made for the Modern Plus Signs Quilts book hop (you can find more details and photos here) and then gifted to my Dad who was thrilled with it and proudly sent me a photo of it on their bed.

I used 9 blocks to make a 72” square version and quilted it with a simple grid two inches apart. It gives great texture. I was really impressed with how it looked on my spare bed so this pattern is definitely on my to-do list for myself.

Bloggers Quilt Festival: Half-Hearted Mini

Made for the Modern Quilt Guild mini swap earlier this year, this little quilt finishes at around 23 x 25 inches.

I downsized the original (free) pattern from around 6 ½ inch height finished to 4 ½. That makes it reduced by 69% on the photocopier. I’m a big fan of foundation paper piecing so I used the paper copies to stitch the blocks up.

This is quilted using a serpentine stitch and the texture is great although it did send the edges wavy.

The original post is here. I guarantee I’ll be making another one of these sometime for myself.

Bloggers Quilt Festival: Facets Plus

This is my favourite and most useful make in the past year. This quilt has been on my bed for the whole of this past winter (just past – I’m in Australia).

It was made last year as part of a quilt-along hosted by Amanda at This Mom Quilts.

The finished size is 70” by 80” and it’s quilted simply with straight lines.

The original post is here for more details and you can find the free pattern here

Bloggers Quilt Festival: Long Tall Jack

This is my second entry into Bloggers Quilt Festival. Made with the beautiful Jane Sassaman fabric ‘Prairie Chic Meadow Mix’ in indigo, this is my upscaled version of Lyn at Lily’s Quilts Double Fat Jack quilt tutorial.

It measures up at 54" x 70". This is one of my all-time favourite quilts.

And here’s the back. The post explaining how that was put together is here.

For more details along with a second one I made see the original post here.

Bloggers Quilt Festival: Somewhat Positive

This is my first ever time for participating in the Bloggers Quilt Festival and I couldn’t be more excited! My top entry pick is this Somewhat Positive mini. It was designed by me and finishes up at 24 inches square.

The original post is here.

Many thanks to Amy for hosting this event.
