Last month’s Bee Inspired block was for Irene at Patchwork and Pastry. She asked for a 9 patch in a 9 patch in a 9 patch in soft grey. You can only see two? The smallest one is part of the centre block, second down on the left. The squares for that one finished up at a very small ½” each!
For Stash Bee, May’s
queen Julia (@sparkymonster) chose the X and plus block and gave us the option
of using purple, orange, hot pink and blue-green on a low volume background. I
enjoyed making this block and it has set in concrete my plans to make a whole
quilt using it. I have a dedicated Pinterest board to this design already and
the variations are endless.
My last Inside Addition block from my Bee Inspired mate Emily at The Darling Dogwood finally arrived after more than 2 months of travelling. I’d given up on it arriving and Emily had plans to start a replacement for me when it arrived. This gives me hope since the crows I made for Velda for April have still not arrived after about 5 weeks.
I’ve been spending
the last week or so making another 18 to go along with the ones I received, or
so I thought. When I went to lay it out on the weekend I found I was one short
*sigh*. There may have been a short outburst of bad language. It should be
exciting when the top starts coming together.
Happy sewing and stay safe!
The nine patch in a nine patch in a nine patch is so clever! Great blocks and I look forward to seeing your layout when you get the extra one pieced together.
ReplyDeleteLove the X Plus block! I've only made it once! The little 9 patch is adorable. Great idea for taking a traditional block and modernizing it a little bit!
ReplyDeleteLove your "hidden" nine patch; what a great idea. Nice that your block finally arrived - so odd and sad when something like that gets lost in the mail.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a nine patch in a nine patch in a nine patch. It does get the juice flowing for me to see such things done and so well executed. Lovely blocks all on today's post. Thank you for sharing. --Andrea
ReplyDeletePretty plusses! I worked on more simpler plusses this week. Come link up at Mama Sparks World for a chance to win a prize. Tell her Kathy S. sent you.

Very lovely blocks. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteThat nine-patch to the third is really cool, and turned out great. I'm a big fan of the nine-patch. Oh, I hope your crows show up for Velda - I am sure they will. Didn't you know they use pony express once and a while just to keep us on our toes?! ~smile~ Roseanne
You have made some great blocks Sue, that multiple nine patch certainly needs patience. I'm looking forward to seeing your inside addition blocks all stitched together.
ReplyDeleteWonderful blocks! So happy and fun. Makes me feel better since it took me so long to get to my Bee Inspired blocks. So sorry that block took so long to get to you. I hope mine don't take that long to get where they need to go! Thanks for linking up to Wednesday Wait Loss.
