Summer Sorbet

Summer is drawing to a close here in Perth and, frankly, it couldn’t come quickly enough. I am so over the heat and today promises to be another scorcher with the temperature around 40°C (104°F). Whew!

This mini celebrates all the fantasies of summer – lazy days on the beach, the languid sipping of iced drinks and the sizzle and smell of barbecues. And, of course, ice-cream! Yum!

It measures up at 25 inch square and I quilted it in a diamond spiral, one of several spiral patterns taught by Jacquie Gering in ‘Next Steps with your Walking Foot’ on Craftsy.

I’m naming this photo ‘are you pleased to see me?’ I didn’t notice the bulge the knobs on the chest of drawers were making until I looked at the photos afterwards.

  3. I really like the diamond spiral quilting, and it is perfect for your design! I'm going to have to file that way to use someday!

  6. Lovely ice cream colours. I love the way you did your spiral. I have all three of Jacquie Gerings Craftsy classes, I love them. So far I have concentrated on the circular spiral but after seeing your square I want to experiment more.

  7. Yummy little quilt! I love the colors and your quilting is great! I am taking the quilting with rulers class on Craftsy by Amy Johnson...great class. I will keep Jacquie's class in mind for sure.
